Some of the most well-known are el Círculo de Bellas Artes, the terrace of the Hotel Riu Plaza España and el Palacio de Cibeles.
Although you might not fancy a cocido madrileño because of the heat, if you visit restaurants such as Malacatín, La Bola or Cazorla we are sure you won’t be able to resist. If you want to sample the capital’s best dishes, we recommend you try patatas bravas, croquetas or the famous bocadillo de calamares in la Plaza Mayor.
Contrary to what people think, Madrid has a beach, it’s called Madrid Río. Several fountains surround the area’s green areas and pools making it the perfect place to cool off and spend the day with the family. Another way to escape the heat is in the Casa de Campo lake. The proximity of the water and the diverse vegetation provide a refreshing ecosystem in which to spend the summer evenings and nights.
