Since 2022, we have partnered with a provider of smart locking systems for residential properties to install electronic locks in all our buildings. This system transforms our properties into smart, secure locations by replacing traditional physical keys with encrypted digital keys.
Benefits include:
- Enhanced security and prevention of unauthorized access, as digital keys are difficult to copy
- Reduced waste and carbon footprint by avoiding lock and physical key replacements during tenant turnover
- Cost optimization and improved operational efficiency, as digital keys can be easily reprogrammed for new tenants
- Faster solutions for tenants in the event of lockouts
The system and provider were selected based on alignment with Testa Homes’ sustainability criteria and supplier selection standards. The system operates with carbon-neutral processes and adheres to circular economy principles, making the product recyclable.
Since 2022, we have installed over 4,000 electronic locks for residential units and more than 1,000 in common areas. The rollout will continue through 2024, covering 60 properties and over 5,500 residential units.
